Lawenda i seks. Dlaczego warto robić zapasy. / Lavender and sex.

Przez wieki pewne zapachy traktowano jak afrodyzjaki. Lawenda znana była jako zioło miłości, a jej słodko ziołowy zapach uważano za przyciągający i uwodzący mężczyzn. 

Takie to informacje można znaleźć gdy zgłębia się lawendowy temat. Ostatnio opisany ogród zachęcił mnie do sprawdzenia jak zachować aromat lawendy, gdy lato już się skończy. 

Throughout history, certain scents have been considered as the language of sexuality, the aphrodisiac.  Lavender has been known as the herb of love, and its beautiful, sweet scent has been a big turn-on for men. 

This information I have found when searching how to preserve lavender’s aroma, which I admired in the beautiful garden.

Przeczytałam, że każdy etap kwitnienia lawendy ma inny aromat. Na początku aromat jest bardziej mydlany, a w miarę rozwijania się ilości kwiatów staje się coraz bardziej dojrzały. Najlepszy zapach jest w okresie pomiędzy rozwinięciem się pierwszego kwiatka, a zwinięciem / przekwitnięciem pierwszego. Lawenda pachnie najintensywniej, gdy rozwinie się ¾ kwiatków. 
Przy ścinaniu ukwieconej łodygi, najlepiej robić to blisko zdrewniałej części pędu. Lawendę powinno się suszyć przez powieszenie jej kwiatami w dół, po związaniu bukietów gumką, w miejscu przewiewnym i zacienionym. 
Po wysuszeniu i oddzieleniu kwiatów, warto zachować łodyżki. Zachowują one część aromatu i można je zimą spalić w kominku lub potrzeć w dłoniach. Suche bukiety z kwiatów lub saszetki zapachowe jak wynika z historii warto trzymać w sypialni :)  Zimowe wieczory nie będą już takie długie?

What I found is that the lavender scent is different at each stage of blooming. At the begining the aroma is more delicate and while the flowers are in bloom it is getting more intense. The best moment for the harvest is when ¾ of these little flowers are in bloom, i.e. after the first flower bud shows its petals and untill this flower withers. 
When harvesting the flowers it’s better to cut them close the brown part of the stalk. Lavender should be dried in the windy, shady place with flower heads down. 
Once the flowers are dry and separated it is worth keeping the stalks as they have aroma too. It will be pleasent to add them to the fireplace during winter. Either a lavender bunch or sachets should be kept in the bedroom, as the history teaches us :) The winter nights won’t be long any more?

Aromaterapia. Lawenda w "Kormoranie". / Aromatherapy. Lavender in "Kormoran".

Lipiec, urlop, wychodzące zza chmur słońce kapryśnie jak to nad Bałtykiem, ciepełko rozchodzące się po ciele. I wiecie co wyróżnia jeszcze ten stan. Zapach lawendy wokół mnie! Ziołowy, głęboki, nie do pomylenia z żadnym innym. Aromaterapia w ogrodzie!
Dla tych rabat lawendy powracam do hotelu "Kormoran" w Rowach nad Bałtykiem. Sam hotel opiszę w kolejnym wpisie, a teraz zanurzcie się ze mną w ten zielony raj, krzaki hortensji, pąki róż (też pachną delikatną słodyczą). Oraz oczywiście kwiaty lawendy różnych odmian - od głęboko fioletowych po wrzosowe. A jaki ruch i bzyk wśród tych pachnących kłosów!
Ogród wewnętrzny jak i okalające budynek rabaty to nie jest jakiś wielki obszar. Jednak te kilka dróżek, wygodne stoliki i fotele, różnorodność roślin, drzew i krzewów, kolorystyka liści od zielonych po ciemno bordowe powoduje, że ogród pozostaje w mojej pamięci jako główne wspomnienie.

July, vacations, sun coming out of the coulds from time to time (as always in the Baltic sea), warm sunshine on the skin. And you know what is special? The lavender aroma around me! Herbal, deep, different than any other. Aromateraphy in the garden! 
For these flowers in the garden of the little hotel "Kormoran" in Rowy at the Polish Baltic Sea I visit the place almost every year.
The hotel I will desribe you in the other post, here I will show you the garden, the green paradise. I'll show you hydragea, delicate pink roses (they smell so sweet). And obviously the lavender flowers, from deep purple to light violet. I would not describe the buzz between the flowers made by bees and others.
The inside garden and the surrounding area is not huge but the volume of plants and flowers, colors, textures makes it staying in my mind so long.
