Od lat uwielbiam szarości we wnętrzu. Od ciemnego kamienia w
łazience w poprzednim mieszkaniu, jasną popielatą kuchnię przez delikatną
szarość na kilku ścianach i stalowy kolor mebli w sypialni. Nie jestem fanką
skandynawskiej prostoty czy nowoczesnego minimalizmu, gdzie szarość jest popularna.
Jednak szary wydawał mi się zawsze eleganckim uzupełnieniem ulubionego dębowego
drewna, srebrnych czy złotych dodatków, wiklinowych koszy, zieleni roślin.
Odcienie szarego wydawały mi się podstawą eleganckiego wnętrza.
I have
loved greys in interiors for many years. Staring from the deep grey stones in
the bathroom, light grey kitchen units in my previous apartment to pale greys
on the walls in my current home as well as steel tones of the bedroom
furniture. I am not a huge fun of the Scandinavian modern design or of
minimalism where grey is very popular. However this color has been for me a backdrop
for the intense oak wood, silver or gold accessories, natural baskets and green
plants. The grey palette was for me an elegant base for any interior.

książkę, której tytuł gwarantuje zawartość na najwyższym poziomie estetyki:
BEAUTIFUL Marka D. Sikes’a. Wnętrzami, które zostały sfotografowane do książki
jestem oczarowana. Wiem, że taki rozmach wystroju i dekoracji nie jest do
osiągnięcia w sposób łatwy, jednak niesamowicie one inspirują. Autor słynie z
uwielbienia indygo, połączenia biało-niebieskich wzorów, delikatnych błękitów. Zresztą
dwa rozdziały zostały zadedykowane właśnie temu kolorowi.
And now a
total surprise. I purchased a fantastic album with the title already suggesting
a great aesthetic content: BEAUTIFUL by Marka D. Sikes. The interior photos are
stunning. I know that such level of space and design is not easy to achieve,
but they inspire al lot. The author is known for his love to indigo, blue and
white patterns, light blue. Hence two chapters are devoted just to these
colors.
Przeglądając po raz kolejny strona po stronie i szukając
m.in. pomysłu do moich szarości
zauważyłam zaskoczona, że właściwie ten kolor tutaj nie istnieje. A nad
niebieskościami zdecydowanie górę biorą brązy i beże, kremy i ciepłe karmele.
Co zaskakuje to fakt, że wnętrza nie kojarzą się z jakimś starodawnym dworkiem
czy rustykalnym stylem. Są współczesne, jasne i przytulne. Można zauważyć i elementy
kolonialne, i klasyczne, ale i prosty współczesny styl. Powiedziałabym nawet,
że to właśnie neutralne barwy czerpiące prosto z naturalnych materiałów jak i odzwierciedlające
naturalne odcienie tutaj królują. Stanowią bazę dla dowolnej kolorystycznie
aranżacji: w błękitach, czerwieniach czy żywej zieleni.
Wybrałam kilka ilustracji, które pokazują to idealnie.
However
flipping over the pages to find some redecorating ideas I noticed that the grey
color does not exist in presented houses. And instead of plenty of blue I see
much often all sorts of neutral browns, beige, cream tones. These colors here
make the interiors contemporary, bright and cosy. They work well with the
colonial, classic or modern design. I would say that the natural colors are mostly
dominant on the photos of this book and they complement others like blue, red
or green.

Jestem zachwycona książką. Przede wszystkim dlatego, że
wreszcie mam przewodnika do odkodowania klimatu wnętrza, które kilka lat temu
doszczętnie zawładnęło moim sercem, a którego odzwierciedlenie było poza moim
zasięgiem. To restauracja w Fullerton Bay Hotel w Singapurze. To tam zakochałam
się w ginger jars. Miejsce jest pełne pięknych mebli, doskonałych dodatków i
tego nieuchwytnego nieskrępowanego eleganckiego stylu, takiego elegant casual.
Ma wszelkie ulubione moje elementy, które odnajduję też w książce BEAUTIFUL: wystawne
tkaniny, wyraziste spore dekoracje jak lampy czy donice z dużymi roślinami,
plecionki, z których zrobione są walizy, całe mnóstwo biało-niebieskiej
ceramiki. I całe naręcza storczyków. No na to pozwolić sobie można tylko w
tropikach.
I’m really pleased with this book. Mainly because I finally
have a guide to create the interior mood, which I totally adored a few years ago and which I could not
recreate in any way. This was the Fullerton Bay Hotel in Singapore. The place
is full of what I like most: beautiful furniture, excellent fabrics, natural
materials, decorations that catch your eye immediately like the lamps, blue and
white ginger jars. They create the amazing elegant casual style. All these elements I can find in BEAUTIFUL. Even the
outstanding volume of orchids, although they are not so great and affordable in
European climate.
